Dear Federal, State, and Local Affiliates of the IAFF 3rd District,
IAFF District 3 Vice President and NE Conference Chairman Jay Colbert announces the following:
You are hereby notified that, pursuant to the Constitution of the New England Conference of Fire Fighters, the 35th Biennial New England Conference will be held at the Foxwoods Fox Tower Hotel in Mashantucket, CT on June 25, 26, & 27 of 2018. The Mashantucket Pequot Fire Fighters Local 4746 and the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut will be hosting the Conference and are suggesting arrival for Monday, June 25. The NECFF is the caucus of all the IAFF Locals in the 3rd District, and gives us all an opportunity to meet collectively in New England ahead of the IAFF Convention and hear from the General President and General Secretary-Treasurer who have been invited to speak. IAFF Peer Support training and IAFF PEP Classes will be offered. This will be our opportunity to hear and discuss Convention Resolutions.
This year we will have a special presentation from the Fire Chief Greg Cassell and Local 1908 President Steve Thompson from Clark County Nevada, who will detail the response to the October 1, 2017 mass shooting. This is valuable presentation is not to be missed.
Additionally, you will receive updates from each of the State Presidents detailing how these difficult economic times are leading to unprecedented attacks on our membership, and how each state is dealing with these issues.
Resolutions will be accepted until Conference registration begins, but the business of the Conference will be greatly expedited if Resolutions are submitted to the Secretary-Treasurer prior, submit Resolutions to the NECFF, 43 Centre St. Concord, NH 03301.

Springfield firefighters put out fire on Mulberry St. 09/17/20 - IAFF Local 648

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Fire Department have put out a fire on Mulberry Street Saturday morning.
According to the department, all crews worked to put out the fire around 10:00 a.m.
Car burned in Springfield arson fire 09/17/20 - IAFF Local 648
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield firefighters put out a car fire early Monday morning in the city’s forest park neighborhood.
According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, the car was parked on 111 Olmstead Drive and firefighters put out the fire around 2 a.m.
Arson and Bomb Squad investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson.
Malden Rallies To Help Namesake WA Town Devastated By Fires 09/16/20 - IAFF Local 902
The city is partnering with the Malden Fire Department to help support the victims of fires that have devastated the town of Malden, WA. Established as a station stop on Dec. 20, 1909, railway officials named the town after Malden, MA.
Fires have destroyed 80 percent of the small Washington town, decimating its post office, fire department, City Hall and library.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a report of a man struck by a train at the Catherine Street Railroad Crossing. The accident happened around 12:48am, Saturday morning. The man was found lying alongside the tracks with serious injuries to his right arm and right leg.

On Monday, September 7, the B-Shift was tasked with a request from The Cameron Peak Fire to assist with a strike team due to the exponential growth of the fire near Ft. Collins. It was Labor Day, where all support staff is off, and hoping to enjoy time with friends and family. Our Denver Fire Fighters responded amazingly.
Espana St. Vehicle into House 09/09/20 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
On Tuesday Sept. 8, 2020 at 5:35 p.m., Local members responded to a MVA into a house call on S. Espana St. in Unincorporated Arapahoe County. When members arrived on scene, they found a car had gone across a stretch of grass, through a fence and crashed into the backside of a home. The homeowner was home at the time, but was not injured. The driver inside the car was trapped from the impact.
